Living in Franklin, TN

The city is incredibly family-friendly, and cultivates a unique sense of close community by hosting dozens of events throughout the year. These include many nationally known festivals, such as the Main Street Festival and Dickens of a Christmas. Downtown Franklin also promotes special events on a monthly basis, such as the Art Scene, which displays local arts and crafts along mainstreet the first Friday of every month. And though the area may feel like a sleepy, cozy Southern town, residents are just a short drive from all the big-city amenities Nashville has to offer.

Williamson County is the fastest growing county in Tennessee, and that’s understandable considering the number of industries that call the area home and the talent of the workforce. It exceeds growth over many other counties of the state with its rise in retail and trade and in the housing development.

Forty corporations have their headquarters based here, according to the Williamson County Chamber of Commerce. Employment in manufacturing is way below the national average, but the county surpasses much of the nation in other industrial segments. Professional and business services account for more than 25 percent of employment, which is 10 percentage points higher than the national average.

Williamson County is also well above the national average in the finance and insurance sector as well as in management of companies. The county also surpasses the national average in professional, science and technology services, arts, entertainment and recreation, information and in retail and trade. According to the EMSI, more than 140,000 jobs in the county are projected to arrive by 2023 with office and administrative support taking the lead.

Franklin Amenities & Attractions

The National Trust for Historic Preservation has awarded Franklin's downtown area one of its treasured "Great American Main Street" awards, and Franklin has also won acknowledgements as the "Best Small Town in Tennessee", "One of America's Great Antique Destinations",  and "America's Most Romantic Main Street".

Franklin is a southern suburb of Nashville and has been called ‘America's Favourite Main Street’. If you were to ask a local about the restaurants in the area, ‘Mellow Mushroom’ will probably be the first to be said mainly because of their popularity all over the Southeastern United States, they specialise in Pizza and Beer, if you are looking for something a bit more extravagant, then why not pay a visit to ‘Stoney River Legendary Steak’ or if you would prefer to treat yourself to something a lot cheaper and has a more laid back atmosphere and vibe then why not try ‘Pueblo Real Restaurant’ they specialise in Tex-Mex food at very affordable prices. There is a whole bunch of other cafes and restaurants that is also available, the selection is so huge, only you will know what you’re hungry for.

The shopping district in Franklin will be tailored more to the ‘Factory at Franklin’ shopping mall, which is what most people like to use, it has almost anything a person needs to have a day out. There are also small business stores inside of the mall as well outside of it. There is also ‘CoolSprings Galleria’ which is also another shopping with all amenities tailored to.

In the surrounding area of Franklin there are 100 Schools and 40 of them are preschools so choosing a school for your child may not be the most difficult thing, most school in the area are very highly rated such as ; Fred J Page Middle School, Fred J Page High School and Hunters Bend Elementary, all of these have a 10/10 rating for personal reviewers. A simple google search should easily help you find the right school for your child.

Franklin is a city surrounded by parks, they are all used for all the same reason whether it is walking your pets, enjoying the outdoors and even recreational activities and events hosted by local businesses. It has over 9 city parks so you’re spoilt for choice. If you have a dog you can take them to the Franklin Dog Park which is officially an ‘off leash’ park so your animal companion can enjoy the outdoors and explore as much as you can. Each park is there for each need, many have playgrounds for children and even paths for those long walks people enjoy.

Mapping Franklin, TN

The distance from Franklin to the Nashville International Airport is just under 30 miles away, so it’s not a tremendous journey and it is mainly a quiet road from Franklin to the Highway. If you prefer to take a taxi to the Airport from Franklin you would be looking at spending under $55 which isn’t too bad considering the distance. Most of the schools within the city are all within walking distance of one another unless you are living in a more rural area then a carpool or commute would be necessary.
