Buying a Home in Clarksville, TN

Locked between the Cumberland River and the state of Kentucky lies the Queen City, also known as beautiful Clarksville, TN. While the city of Clarksville might have a charming small town ambiance all throughout its downtown and immediate surrounding area, it’s actually the fifth largest city in the entire state of Tennessee behind Memphis, Nashville, Knoxville, and Chattanooga. Recent population stats show right around 150,000 people call Clarksville home, which is a big reason why it’s also the acting county seat of Montgomery County.

Believe it or not, Clarksville was first incorporated all the way back in 1785 and was actually Tennessee’s first incorporated city. It’s here you’ll find the oldest newspaper in the entire state, a prominent military base, and also Austin Peay State University, which is one of the fastest growing universities in all of Tennessee. Like most major Nashville suburbs, real estate in Clarksville mainly consists of detached single-family homes that range from stately executive style residences to a plethora of quaint little cottages that act as the perfect starter home.

What also is located conveniently down the interstate is the city’s plethora of retail stores, restaurants, industries and medical services. Clarksville provides its residents with state of the art health care with its recently opened Gateway Medical Center, which also serves Kentucky residents.
