A Nashville-based investment group, Cottage Partners, has presented a proposal to redevelop the 126South church site into a modern mixed-use space. The group has now presented neighbors a proposal with eight buildings offering retail, restaurant, office, and garage parking spaces. The property is owned by Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church but would be acquired by the Nashville Partnership group should the proposal and deal go through. 

At a recent meeting with local business, owners, authorities and neighbors, an array of images and plans for the proposed development were presented. A brand-new townhouse development consisting of 20 units is scheduled to begin being building soon. The development will be positioned at the northeast corner of the intersection of 19th and Wedgewood avenues. The 20 total residences will be made up of; 16, 4-bedroom units, and 4, 1-bedroom units. The property was acquired over the summer by a Fargo, ND based entity for around $3 million dollars.       

The Fargo group has enlisted the Nashville based, Split Rock Development, to manage the project. Split Rock will have to demo some existing structures and are planning to begin that process immediately. Split Rock has developed the notable townhome sites on Hayes Street, as well as, the West End Park site at Long Boulevard and Avoca Street.
